Children love to start their learning at St Christopher’s Nursery! We have a lovely, purpose-built room for our Nursery, with its own separate access from the school car-park. There is a large outdoor area, and all Nursery children also visit our own onsite ‘Forest School’ area each week.
Parents are really happy with their children’s progress in the Nursery. “I’m proud of what my daughter has achieved at nursery. She loves the teachers and friends here very much. I hope she will keep this beautiful memory of staying with teachers and her friends during her whole life. Although we’ll go back to China soon, she will miss all of you very much”. (Yichen’s mum)
“The Early Years environment is stimulating and vibrant”. (Ofsted Jan 2017)
“The curriculum is well-planned to provide stimulating and demanding experiences which help children to learn well”. (Ofsted Jan 2017)
If you would like to enrol your child at St Christopher’s Nursery, we offer different options of nursery education. We currently offer the 30-hour entitlement for free nursery places to eligible families. We accept children into our nursery from the age of 3 years old, please note that we do not take 2 year olds. Funded places take effect in the term after your child’s 3rd birthday, but parents can choose to start their child from their 3rd birthday if they would like to pay until the funding starts. The charge for this is currently £5 per hour.
The options available are:
1/ 30 hours of fully funded nursery education (subject to entitlement and receipt by us of your code) 5 days a week. Parents are asked to provide their child with a packed lunch each day.
2/ 15 hours fully funded (5 mornings only – 8.45am to 11.45am)
3/ 15 hours fully funded (5 afternoons only – 12.00 to 3.00pm)
Nursery children are also welcome to our school Breakfast Club, which runs from 7.45am in the school hall, at a charge of £3 per session.
Interested parents are welcome to come to visit at any time. Please call the school office on 01865 779772 to arrange a visit.
Spaces in our nursery are limited, and fill up very quickly. We recommend that, to avoid disappointment, you register your child close to their 2nd birthday if you would like a place for them once they are 3 years old.
