The year 3 / 4 boys played the first match of our 5 match tournament against John Henry Newman at the end of last week. A tough away match for the boys, playing their first full match as a team, started brightly for both teams. A back and forth 1st half that was fantastic to watch ended with sustained pressure from St Christopher’s and a goal from Isaac 3 minutes before halftime to give us the lead. However, it was very much a game of 2 halves, with John Henry Newman coming out strongly in the 2nd half, equalising after just 2 minutes. A lot of defending followed, but a truly stunning free-kick eventually gave JHN a 2-1 lead, and as St Christopher’s pressed for another goal, space was left at the back, with John Henry Newman going on to win the match 4-1. It was still a great first performance by the boys though, with a lot of positives to build on! 26/04/24
